D1Li River Cruise & Yangshuo▾
Morning: Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo — 83km of the world's most photogenic karst landscape through limestone peaks, bamboo groves, and water buffalo by the riverbank. The same scenery on the 20 RMB note. Afternoon: Yangshuo countryside cycling through rice paddies and ancient villages. Evening: Impression Liu Sanjie light show on the Li River, directed by Zhang Yimou.
D2Longji Rice Terraces▾
Full day trip to Longji Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces — one of China's most stunning agricultural wonders. Hike between Zhuang and Yao minority villages, learn about 650-year-old terrace farming techniques. Women from the Red Yao tribe with their famously long hair perform traditional songs. Scenic lunch at a mountainside restaurant.
