Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Panda Base
Morning pickup from airport/train station. Head to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding — best visited in the morning when pandas are most active. Watch playful cubs, see red pandas, and walk through bamboo groves. Afternoon: Visit Wenshu Monastery, Chengdu's best-preserved Buddhist temple (Tang Dynasty). Evening: Jinli Ancient Street for local snacks, handicrafts, and the vibrant night atmosphere. Dinner recommendation: Sichuan hotpot at a traditional restaurant.
Day 2: Culture, Parks & Departure
Morning: Visit People's Park — the heart of Chengdu's slow-life culture. Watch locals practice tai chi, join a tea session at the century-old Heming Teahouse, and experience the famous 'ear-picking' tradition. Stroll through Kuanzhai Alley (Wide & Narrow Alleys) — three parallel Qing Dynasty lanes with boutique shops and tea houses. Afternoon: Wuhou Shrine (Three Kingdoms history) or Sichuan Cuisine Museum. Transfer to airport/train station.
