Day 1: Chengdu to Leshan
Morning: visit Chengdu Panda Base. Afternoon: drive to Leshan (2h). Walk the Lingyun Mountain path alongside the Giant Buddha — descend the cliffside staircase for the full scale of this 71m marvel. Optional boat ride for the complete Buddha-on-cliff view. Overnight at Mount Emei foothills.
Day 2: Mount Emei — Wannian Monastery & Qingyin Pavilion
Ascend Mount Emei via shuttle bus and cable car to Wannian Monastery (1,020m) — one of Emei's oldest temples with a 62-ton bronze statue of Puxian on a white elephant. Hike down via Qingyin Pavilion (Pure Sound Pavilion) — the most beautiful stretch of Emei, with twin bridges over rushing streams. Spot wild Tibetan macaques along the trail. Overnight at Emei foothills.
Day 3: Golden Summit
Early morning ascent to the Golden Summit (3,099m) — shuttle bus + cable car. Visit Huazang Temple and the stunning 48m gilded bronze statue of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva surrounded by ten-faced golden heads. Hope for the 'Sea of Clouds' and 'Buddha's Halo' phenomena. Descend and drive back to Chengdu. Evening: Kuanzhai Alley for Sichuan snacks and tea. Overnight in Chengdu.
Day 4: Chengdu & Departure
Morning: People's Park for a local experience — watch tai chi, join a tea-drinking session at the historic Heming Teahouse, and try 'ear-picking' (a Chengdu specialty). Visit Jinli Ancient Street for last souvenirs. Transfer to airport or train station.
