Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Cruise Port Pick-up — Tianjin City Tour
Your guide meets you at Tianjin International Cruise Port (Xingang) with a name sign. Drive to central Tianjin (1 hour). Explore the Five Great Avenues — a living museum of European architecture where British, French, German, Italian, and Belgian architects built over 2,000 villas in the 1920s-30s. Visit the mind-bending Porcelain House. Lunch at a restaurant serving Tianjin's famous Goubuli steamed buns. Afternoon: Ancient Culture Street and a stroll along the Haihe River, lined with illuminated bridges. Check into your Tianjin hotel for the night.
Day 2: High-Speed Train to Beijing — Forbidden City & Hutongs
After breakfast, board the 30-minute high-speed train to Beijing (your luggage stays in the vehicle, which drives ahead). Morning: Tiananmen Square — the world's largest public square. Then enter the Forbidden City through the Meridian Gate, walking the central axis through the Hall of Supreme Harmony to the Imperial Garden (3-4 hours, pre-booked tickets). Afternoon: Hutong rickshaw tour through Beijing's historic alleyway neighborhoods. Visit a courtyard family home for tea. Evening: Wangfujing Night Market or a Peking duck dinner. Overnight in Beijing.
Day 3: Mutianyu Great Wall & Return to Cruise Port
Early morning: drive 1.5 hours to Mutianyu Great Wall — one of the best-preserved Ming Dynasty sections with 23 watchtowers strung across forested mountain ridges. The cable car whisks you up, then choose your direction: the gentler eastern side with restored towers or the wilder western section for a proper hike. Optional: ride the toboggan slide back down (a highlight for many visitors!). After lunch at a countryside restaurant, your vehicle drives you back to Tianjin International Cruise Port (2.5 hours), arriving in time for evening embarkation.
