Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival — Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square & A-Ma Temple
Arrive at Macau Ferry Terminal or Border Gate. Start your exploration at the Ruins of St. Paul's — the 17th-century Jesuit church facade carved by Japanese Christian exiles and local craftsmen. Visit the Museum of Sacred Art and the crypt in the foundations. Walk the cobblestones to Senado Square — Macau's main plaza since the 16th century — and then St. Dominic's Church (1587), a beautiful baroque church with a small sacred art museum. Explore the narrow lanes of the Historic Centre where Chinese herbal shops sit next to Portuguese bakeries. Afternoon: A-Ma Temple and Macau Tower. Evening: Portuguese-influenced dinner at a restaurant on Taipa Village's Rua do Cunha (Food Street). Overnight in Macau.
Day 2: Coloane Village, Taipa Houses & the Venetian Macao
Morning: Coloane Village — Macau's sleepy southern island where pastel-colored houses line quiet lanes. Visit the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier (1928) and the original Lord Stow's Bakery (1989) where the Portuguese egg tart craze began. Then Taipa Village — wander cobblestone streets past the Taipa Houses-Museum, five pastel-green colonial residences built in 1921 that now showcase Macanese life. Enjoy a Portuguese wine tasting. Afternoon: explore the Cotai Strip — enter the Venetian Macao's replica of Venice with singing gondoliers, see the Eiffel Tower at Parisian Macao, and watch Studio City's iconic figure-8 Ferris wheel. Transfer to ferry terminal or border gate.
