Spring (MarโMay): The Golden Season
Best for: Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guilin. Temperatures 10-25ยฐC, flowers bloom, crowds moderate. April in Hangzhou โ West Lake framed by peach blossoms is pure poetry.
Summer (JunโAug): Green Landscapes & Mountain Escapes
Best for: Tibet, Yunnan, Zhangjiajie, Inner Mongolia. Hot in central China (30-38ยฐC) but perfect for high-altitude destinations. July Naadam Festival in Inner Mongolia.
Autumn (SepโNov): The Photographer's Dream
Best for: All of China. Clear skies, golden light, fall foliage. Avoid National Day (Oct 1-7) crowds. Late October at Mutianyu Great Wall โ mountains blaze with red and gold leaves.
Winter (DecโFeb): Festivals & Frozen Wonders
Best for: Harbin Ice Festival, Sanya beaches. Chinese New Year (late Jan/early Feb) is incredible but expect closures. January at Harbin Ice & Snow World โ frozen city lit with rainbow LEDs.
