About the Show
Bian Lian (face-changing) is one of China's most closely guarded performance secrets. Performers change their painted silk masks in the blink of an eye โ a flick of the fan, a turn of the head, and an entirely new face appears. The method is a state-protected secret.
The Shufeng Yayun Teahouse in a restored Qing Dynasty courtyard offers an intimate setting โ no seat is more than 10 meters from the stage. Your ticket includes unlimited tea and traditional snacks. Beyond face-changing: fire-spitting, shadow puppetry, hand-shadow art, erhu solos, and comedic Sichuan skits.

"I still cannot figure out how they change the masks. We were 3 meters from the stage, watching intensely, and still couldn't see how it's done. A truly unique Chengdu experience."
โ Alex W., TripAdvisor Review"The teahouse setting makes this so much more intimate than a big theatre. Sipping jasmine tea while a master changes masks right in front of you โ this is the Chengdu I came to experience."
