D1Avatar Mountains & Bailong Elevator▾

Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Ride the Bailong Elevator — the world's tallest outdoor lift shooting up 326m through a quartzite cliff. Emerge into Yuanjiajie's floating peaks — the inspiration for Avatar's Hallelujah Mountains. Walk the Mountain-Claiming Platform and photograph the iconic Southern Sky Column. Afternoon: Tianzi Mountain with its sea of sandstone pillars.

D2Tianmen Mountain & Glass Walkway▾

Full day at Tianmen Mountain. Ride the world's longest cable car (7.5km) from the city center to the summit. Walk the 60m glass skywalk clinging to a vertical cliff at 1,430m — not for the faint-hearted. Climb the 999 steps of Heaven's Gate, the natural arch that planes have flown through. Lunch: local Tujia ethnic cuisine.

D3Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge▾

ZhangjiajieGrand Canyon: walk across the world's highest glass-bottomed bridge (300m above the canyon floor). Optional: the world's highest bungee jump (260m). Afternoon: Baofeng Lake boat ride between sandstone cliffs. Evening free in Wulingyuan town.
